4th Oct. 2011

I arrived here yesterday with a mixed nurve. One of my plans this time in Japan had been a visit to Kesennuma and Rikuzen Takata, two of the most affected cities by the March 11 Tsunami along the North-eastern Pacific coast. There is the famous fishing harbour with massive sea food industry in Kesennuma, and all those normal life amenities such as houses, schools, hospitals, shops and all that in Rikuzen Takata, both of which have been said to be totally destroied.

I'm so stunned seeing the real time situation of both cities that I cannot say much today, but I feel getting a hint of a big thing.
We, human, have began to suffer in this way because of something we are facing in every place even in Kuala Lumpur.
Maybe, it is time to think over, review our ways, live again.
Maybe, we are overdeveloping.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2754810390162317708.post-16654884874917062142015-07-10T12:29:00.001+08:002015-07-10T12:54:44.191+08:00
5th Oct. 2011

I've been thinking.
Rikuzen Takata I visited yesterday after Kesennuma was even worse for its flatness and vastness that allowed the tsunami's spread.
The entire city had practically disappeared.

I looked at the debris which had been fairy cleared by now after 7 months. They were all what we see around us in our lives.

Concrete, floor material, ceiling material, plastic goods, tire, car body, parts of chair, table, furniture, window, wall, computer... all of which had been produced in recent age, late 20th century, and 21st century.
In other wards, we are living in debris.
A lot of thinking and I cannot conclude.
A lot of lives were gone as well.

This picture is the remain of a secondary school. I asked the security officer near by to make sure that the pupils had safely evacuated.
No, he said. About half had died, believing no tsunami would come.

I'm saying, we might be overdeveloping.
Over making. Over manufacturing. Over creating. Over working because we have to survive with the current life standard. Therefore over producing. Over trusting the technology. No disaster would come. Over estimating. Under estimating the nature, the fate, maybe god.
...I don't know.
I really do not know.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2754810390162317708.post-36015184068111882782009-10-25T16:31:00.008+08:002009-10-25T16:53:32.702+08:00Weekend in DohaYesterday, I walked along Doha bay shoreline called "Al Cornichi" all the way from my hotel somewhere at the right tip in the photograph to the point where the photo was taken. Not stable enough.
But still, I'd like to consider for the three new staff (beside the aforementioned two), who strugled and tried their very best for the very first year of their working lives.
They are getting litt...ttle bit of increment from this month, that will surely make a big difference (please make sure)!
The rest of you, old people, please accept this.

Oh, a bad news from Miss P W...
One of our clients failed to bank in our professional fee on time today, so our financial statement will be at a "tak cukup" circumstance on January payday.
It can only make it on 3rd February.
Please do not go to the bank too happily to withdraw money. You may be disappointed.
I am so sorry about that.

The allowance of 100 or 200 for unclear purposes given to a few members did not work well, so we don't practice that any more.
Better to think of more practical appraisal method which is in progress in my head. I will slowly expose my concept of appraisal through here, so you better watch out.

It's not a perfect timing for me to travel now (since my salary will delay more than yours), but I have to do this as there will unlikely be any better opportunity for my old parents in Japan to receive their grand children from Malaysia.
So I'm going off to Japan tomorrow.

Next time I see you, you are very rich with no money spent during the long break.
I'm looking forward to seeing those prosperous faces.

A Happy Chinese New Year.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2754810390162317708.post-60869760711231294292009-01-17T16:08:00.003+08:002009-01-17T17:03:31.840+08:00I was an ambitious boy, not for money but for professional achievement. So, I didn't bother much about the amount of salary I would get.

A small consultancy firm was never famous of a high wage. My first salary was slightly less than 100,000 yen, which could be more than 3,000 ringgit now, but was something like 1,000 ringgit before yen went mad. So I was not proud of my salary at all.

That neither means that I intend to set your salary low to repeat what I have had, nor that I regret myself in the past and willing to give you generously.

I am now working on a review of the very initial amount a new staff is paid, and will adjust the amount in accordance with his/her experience, qualification and the current market situation.

I'm also thinking of calculating how much that initial salary will become after certain number of years with a rate of annual increment, and see whether the current salary of senior members are justifiable or not.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2754810390162317708.post-4398303875215382852009-01-11T21:25:00.003+08:002009-01-11T22:48:16.908+08:00Yeah, I'm talking about your salary right?
So, it's actually about the employment.

Employment.

Almost the same thing as marriage. It's a human relationship between the two.

In the case of marriage, it's you and your wife, or you and your husband. Girlfriend and boyfriend not applicable, because there is no commitment. Marriage is like a contract. You should do this and that, otherwise you would be out. I should do this and that, otherwise I'm not fit to the style of your family.

In the case of employment, it's you and the company.
You do good to Aroma Tropics, so I will take care of you. It's that simple, you see, same as you and your sayang.

The thing is
... the system how I appreciate your contribution to Aroma Tropics might not have been well spelt out in the current method. A suggestion of how you can improve your work is also not reflected in the structure of your wage.

Now you know, it's not that simple right?

I shall continue.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2754810390162317708.post-40180994769810383252009-01-05T11:03:00.005+08:002009-01-07T18:55:03.378+08:00Dear Aroma members,

A happy new year.

For the fresh year, I have to begin this very important task which has been pressuring me to look into since last year.

It's about your salary.
I want to think about this.

So, I start from my own thing.
The entire aim of my life is neither to make a big success in business nor to become very rich (but okay to be a bit richer than now).
My aim is to do a good job and to leave a nice thing to the world.
So, it does not make sense if I pay you less.

But at the same time, I do not wish to pay you more than worth amount of work you do.
I prefer to gain for what I do, and the same should be applied to you. You should get for what you produce to the world, but not more than that. Also, not less than that.

That is the very principle.

I will continue again.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2754810390162317708.post-69763039140222110442008-12-13T22:36:00.002+08:002008-12-13T23:04:48.714+08:00The last night in Tokyo

I'm staying at a hotel in the central Tokyo for catching my flight back to Kuala Lumpur tomorrow morning at 11:30.

After coming back from the dinner appointment with a book editor, I caught a view of the Tokyo Tower near my hotel.

It's beautiful.

It's standing decently at the back of the old gate to the Zou-shou-ji temple.

The tower was built some 200 years after the gate (though the gate is the resemble with concrete structure).

There is much greenery and a quiet environment as compared with KL Tower, I think.

As the magnificent two structures stood still in fascinating contrast in this IT century, I felt that my next book publication would depend on my will, my continuous effort, my positive perspect to the future.

Our eventual materialization of the landscape vision would come true, depending on our will, our coutinuous effort and our positive perspect to the future.

Those who possess a vision, the will, the effort and the positive perspect to the future should follow what he/ she believes.

Those who don't know what I am talking about should think of his/ her vision, will, effort and perspect.
Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2754810390162317708.post-67207374862343185382008-12-12T20:30:00.000+08:002008-12-12T20:53:58.583+08:00Towards the end... The photograph is the rivival castle mimic in my kampung.

My trip back to Japan is coming to an end. So my father made up a story that his cancer still stayed with him and he would die.

My mother and I were stunned with his story and regretted about the operation for a moment, but the next moment recalled what happened yesterday, and made sure that he was wrong.

I explained.

I drew a sketch of the cancer extracted from his body and how it looked like. I stressed how confident the doctor behaved after the operation, how relieved we all felt.

My uncle came later. Anestassia and other preparation for half an hour then went on with endoscopy surgery.

Came out at 3:20 pm. Taken by a nurse (so pretty that my father was exited before entering the treatment room) to his room upstairs while we remained for hearing from the doctor.

The doctor who had operated my father appeared and talked to my mother, my uncle and me showing the organ piece pinned on a small board. It was the cancer removed from my father's esophagus (the tube the food goes through between your mouth and stomach).

The doctor explained that my father was okay, that the surgery had been successfully completed and that my father might be discharged in 5 days.

He may have to come back to the hospital 2-3 weeks later for enlarging a part of his esophagus section by another minor endoscopy. Since that particular section was shrunk by thinning the tube's thickness when the cancer removed, causing a bottle-neck situation, this section has to be widened by a small balloon in order to avoid meat and potato and carrot and those big pieces get stuck here when consumed.

Otherwise my father is perfectly fine.

I thank you all with your sympathy.

KashinoUnknownnoreply@blogger.com1
